Go away this winter or plan to ‘travel locally’ in Old Montreal.
“Local Trip “– this new expression took on its full meaning this summer when travelling abroad was suspended and we learned how to rediscover our Province and its tourist attractions. It’s true that you don’t have to travel very far to feel disoriented and have the feeling of having gone far away from home! Sometimes getting out of your house to go for a fun walk or do something that you don’t normally do is enough. Spending a night or two in a hotel to enjoy your own city and discover it from a tourist’s perspective is part of it.
These small touches make all the difference.
‘Local crafts, ‘local commerce’ or even ‘local partner’ have also become the watchwords in this pandemic, and it is important for us to honor these actors who make Montreal, our city, so alive and attractive.
At the hotel, we have always worked with local merchants. That’s why today, I’ve decided to talk to you about some of our local partners in Old Montreal who contribute to the everyday SoSulpice! experiences we offer at the hotel. So, I invite you to discover what you might come upon on your next ‘local trip’ in Old Montreal! Enjoy your visit!
Local Commerce : Le Magasin Général du Vieux Montréal, 34 C rue St-Paul Ouest, Old Montréal
First of all, I would like to present you, for those who do not know of it, our favourite boutique located 2 steps from the hotel: le Magasin Général du Vieux Montréal. We love them so much that some of their products dress up our hotel windows.
This shop is, for me, a real cabinet of curiosities! It is full of gift ideas, decorative items, souvenir gifts from Montreal, jewelry, and trendy accessories such as bags and scarves – all at affordable prices! Nicole, the owner, carefully choses her suppliers and artisans to showcase their creation and their local know-how.
You’ll probably fall in love with one of her scented candles or even one of her colourful and decorative ceramic objects. The store now offers a whole collection of small green plants to complete your interior decoration.
Let yourself be served by Nicole who will guide your through the boutique and give you the warmest of welcomes. You will undoubtedly inspiration for your next Christmas gifts all while making a local purchase.
And for all Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel guests, a SoSulpice! welcome is waiting for you!
Local Specialty : Délices Érable & Cie, 84 rue St-Paul Est in Old Montreal
Have a sweet tooth? Visit the Délices Érable Boutique situated less than a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
Welcoming and pleasant, the shop is currently open to you from Thursday to Sunday. As you walk past the store, you will be drawn to the comforting and captivating smell of maple. Might you be tempted by a maple hot chocolate?
Gift boxes filled with local delicacies ready to go or build your own! Choose your local basket: the boutique offers a wide choice of products to offer or to spoil yourself without moderation! Candy, cookies, waffles, jelly, popcorn, tea, cranberries, blueberries, and all the variations of maple syrup you can imagine. Not to mention, a great selection of honey from Quebec, seasonings, mustards, vinegar and so much more. You will find the best of what is made directly here!
Le Scandinave Spa du Vieux Montréal, 71 Rue de la Commune O, Montréal
The current situation and the season are finally inviting us to take care of ourselves and our loved ones! Our routine is upset by the changes that we’ve been experiencing for the last 6 months. We aspire to take care of ourselves, and above all, to take the time to do so. So, why not put a wellness break in your calendar? You deserve it!
I suggest a local trip to the country of wellness just a stone throw’s away from the hotel: Scandinave Spa . Currently, we do not have access to the baths (as per gouvernement guidelines), but you do have access to a massage. In a subdued and relaxing atmosphere, the massage therapists offer you a whole menu of massages: from 60 to 120 minutes, Swedish, Therapeutic, Deep Tissue, even Lomi Atsu massage… choose your formula and let yourself be immersed with the delicate scent of eucalyptus. Now is the time to relax your muscles, your back, release the pressure, and just not think about anything.
And for all Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel guests, benefit from a SoSulpice! Reduction. Contact our Concierge Team to find out more.
Local Trip to Dreamland
Our suites are made for that! Spacious and warm, you will quickly feel at home. Well… even better than at home! ‘Travelling locally’ is the pleasure of having a getaway close to home. Treat yourself to a change of scenery by allowing yourself a break near your home. Without having to travel far away from home, you can take advantage of a hotel stay to break your at-home routine!
No need to go grocery shopping, prepare a meal, just have it delivered to your room! Many restaurants offer a variety of menus: from a simple meal to a more gourmet formula. Our Concierges can direct you to the best addresses in the neighborhood.
My advice: book a suite with a fireplace. Comfortably seated on the sofa, bask in the warmth of an electric fireplace, and take the time read or watch your favourite movie or series.
Choose our Cocooning Package: enjoy a suite with a fireplace and a bathtub. Immerse yourself into a nice hot bath enhanced with our selection of l’Occitane en Provence products including their almond paste as a massage exfoliant! It’s tempting isn’t it? So, don’t wait any longer, and book your stay at www.lesaintsulpice.com or with the Front Desk at 1877-785 -7523.
We can’t wait to welcome you!
