Montreal is one of the best places to visit in Canada. Firstly, it is a truly multi-faceted city, offering new world and old world charm. The cobblestone streets of Old Montreal and its picturesque buildings will have you thinking you just landed in Europe and the busy downtown core is reminiscent of busier modern cities such New York and Toronto. Your trip from Delaware to Montreal is sure to be a metropolitan adventure! In downtown Montreal one can also access an underground city. Yes, you read that right. The Montréal Souterrain (or also RÉSO) is an underground network of tunnels that stretches over more than 19 miles and connects museums, universities, the famous Eaton Centre shopping mall, the underground metro and more! It is the largest underground network in the world! Don’t forget French is an official language here so if you’re shopping or eating out, you’ll likely be greeted in French first, though most people in the city are bilingual. Plan to spend at least three days in the city to visit the old-port, famous neighbourhoods like the plateau and the mile end, markets such as the Jean-Talon market, the canal, famous bagel shops such as Fairmount Bagel and more!

During your trip from New York to Montreal, you can explore the city and see first hand what Montreal has to offer. New Yorkers with a penchant for exceptional bagels should undoubtedly make a beeline for Montreal’s iconic Fairmount Bagel and St-Viateur Bagel establishments. Renowned for their unique take on this beloved breakfast staple, these Montreal bagel shops boast a distinct style that sets them apart. Fairmount Bagel, established in 1919, and St-Viateur Bagel, founded in 1957, have perfected the art of crafting hand-rolled, wood-fired bagels that are smaller, denser, and slightly sweeter than their New York counterparts. Over the past year, the Hotel Saint-Sulpice has been implementing a sustainable development program. In January, we support Autisme Montréal.

The principle is simple: we invite our guests who stay at the hotel for more than one night not to use the housekeeping service. By doing so, our guests are helping to reduce their ecological footprint, and they’re also contributing to our monthly collection, since for every day they refuse, the hotel donates $5 to a charity close to our hearts.

In January, Guillaume Holterbach chose to support the organization Autism Montreal, which aims to improve the living conditions of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Autisme Montréal is an inspiring and unifying place, carrying hope, development, and social solidarity. At Autisme Montréal, the underlying idea is that the living conditions of individuals with autism and their families can be improved. Emphasis is placed on the importance of greater openness, solidarity, and a shared intention to provide them with quality services, thereby enabling their development, flourishing, and integration within their community.

ATEDM’s primary mandate is:

  • To advocate for the rights and interests of people with autism and those of their families.
  • To promote and to sensitize the health, education, research communities, and the general population, to the needs of people with autism.
  • To develop direct services to answer the needs of people with autism and their families.

We’re counting on you and your support, and we’d like to thank you in advance!
