In november, we collect in favour of CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation

The organism supported by Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel Montreal through its Green Program is the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation.

Guests staying at the hotel in the month of November are asked to opt out of their site housekeeping service during their stay. For each refusal, the hotel donates $5 to the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation and thus contributes financially to the many actions deployed to provide excellent care to mothers and children. Through this action, our guests also contribute to a collective effort to reduce GHGs.

Marc-André Dandeneau, General Manager of Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel Montreal, explains the reasons for his choice to support this CHU Sainte-Justine foundation.

‘November 20, 2022 will be the International Children’s Day. The well-being of children is very relative from one country to another. Not all children have the chance to grow up safely or have access to all the resources they need to thrive. In Canada, there is also a great disparity between regions and many children grow up in poverty. We must ensure that, at the grassroots level, children have the right to the same level of education and have access to a good health system. I chose the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation because they make sure to offer quality pediatric care to children from all backgrounds without judgment.’

The foundation regularly launches major donation campaigns to support health projects for children and their mothers.

In September we support New Pathways Foundation with our green Program

In September participate in the collection of the Saint-Sulpice Hotel Montreal dedicated to New Pathways Foundation.

For this new monthly collection with its green program, Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel Montreal is partnering with the New Pathways Foundation. Three months ago we launched the Green Program, which aims to raise funds for organizations and foundations chosen by hotel staff. An original way to build a better world in line with the values of our company.

In addition to financial support for this organization, guests also contribute to the protection of the environment by reducing their ecological footprint.

Each month, we invite all hotel guests to refuse the housekeeping service during their stay of 2 nights or more, in order to contribute $5/day of refusal to the monthly collection.

With September 30, the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, we also wanted to highlight this important event in our society by devoting our monthly fundraising to the New Pathways Foundation.

New Pathways Foundation Mission

Their mission consist in engaging and supporting First Nations youth in Quebec in their wellness, their individual and collective development and their fulfillment.

To do this, the New Pathways Foundation has developed numerous initiatives:

The Foundation Camps: Since 2014, the Foundation has enabled young people from all over the Quebec to experiment camps in order to accompany them with positive and meaningful experiences through workshops in cooperation, sports, theater, culture, etc.
BECOME Internships: The BECOME observation internships are intended for young people in Secondary 3, 4
and 5 to explore jobs, discover resources in urban areas and support at a decisive moment in their life in order to encourage
them to continue their educational path.
NISKA initiatives: Niska supports local organizations in the planning and development of physical and sports activities-initiation, recreation, competition or excellence. The New Pathways Foundation wants to give young First Nations members the opportunity to explore various possibilities for activities and, possibly, to continue their journey within a sport.
Desjardins Foundation Scolarship: School perseverance scholarships are offered to secondary school students to promote school perseverance. A scholarship is intended to support the purchase of material resources or services that meet a specific need in order to support young people in obtaining their first diploma.
Social innovation laboratory: The Foundation wants to continue developing its initiatives in a context of continuous improvement within a social innovation laboratory with an impact on First Nations youth in Quebec.
The Laboratory will bring together several stakeholders concerned in different spheres of First Nations youth development (young people, actors in the health and education sectors of First Nations in Quebec, stakeholders, researchers from academia, psychologists, elders, etc.). The Laboratory’s work will make it possible to target the development orientations that will meet the needs and aspirations of First Nations youth in Quebec.

The New Paths Foundation was chosen by Zoé Pelletier, our Sales and Marketing Director.

In August, we support La Maison Bleue

For this month of August, the Saint-Sulpice Hotel Montreal is deploying its green program in favor of La Maison Bleue.

Launched in June 2022, the Hotel Le Saint-Sulpice’s Green Program raises funds for organizations that work in favor of sustainable or social development. All hotel guests staying in August are invited to refuse the housekeeping service during their stay of 2 nights or more, in order to contribute $5/day of refusal to the collection for La Maison Bleue.

In addition to financial support for this organization, customers also contribute to environmental protection by reducing their ecological footprint.

The mission of La Maison Bleue:

This non-profit organization’s mission is to provide an environment conducive to the development of children by intervening with pregnant women in vulnerable situations.

La Maison Bleue founded in 2007 has four houses in Montreal: in Côte-des-Neiges, Parc-Extension, Saint-Michel and Verdun. She intervened with 5,800 mothers, babies, siblings and spouses. Each of these Maison bleue brings together a whole “village” of mutual aid, a support network made up of health and social service professionals (family doctors, midwives, nurses, social workers, specialized educators, psychoeducators), therapists and volunteers offering a warm environment where families have access to care and services provided on a human scale.

La Maison Bleue was chosen by Martine Quintal, our financial controller who explains the reasons for her choice.

“When reading this text, I would like you to have in mind the sweet melody of « Prendre Un Enfant » by singer-songwriter Yves Duteil, because it perfectly sums up the mission that the founders of La Maison Bleue, Dre. Vania Jimenez, family doctor and midwife, and Amélie Sigouin, early childhood social-worker, and their team aim to do.

By choosing La Maison Bleue, is my way of giving back what I have received in life through this fundraiser. I had the privilege of having been so well surrounded by love and support, before, during and after my three pregnancies which now date back to almost 30 years. And now, I am about to experience another great privilege of life, that of being a grandmother.

My daughter, my baby, my beautiful Caroline, this 26-year-old young woman who is just about 20 weeks pregnant, who in turn is experiencing her pregnancy one of the most beautiful moments in life, her too surrounded by love, support, and everything she will need, before, during and after her pregnancy.

Unfortunately, it is not the same reality for all future mothers to live their pregnancies peacefully or surrounded by their loved ones. Far too many of them do not have access to these privileges that we too often take for granted. Thanks to La Maison Bleue, more and more young pregnant women can live their pregnancies well accompanied, surrounded by love, support, before, during and after their pregnancies. »
